keeping it live!

I’m watching The Slacker Mentality by Michael Moore and am dumbfounded at the amazing caliber of musical performers he has been able to acquire for his many city tour. From Eddie Vedder to Tom Morello, he has the backing of many top names.

This movie has made me get all riled up. I see how ignorant people can be. I especially enjoyed when Michael Moore addressed the media, including those who were covering his question and answer sessions. He pointedly stated that the media sucked up to the Bush administration and only recently decided to start telling the truth.

Eddie Vedder, a favorite of mine, sang a song by Cat Stevens. I actually liked Eddie’s version better, not surprisingly. If you haven’t seen it, look it up on YOUTUBE. You’re missing out.

Tom Morello, a gentle soul, sang a song, acoustic guitar in hand. I can say I’ve never seen Tom Morello with an acoustic ANYTHING. The song, he said, was a prayer for peace and a prayer for hope. The song was sweet but somewhat lackluster.
